From letter to me F1369/376/G of the 7th February, I take it you would give your blessing to the suggestion that, as often as possible, arrangements should be made for a liong Kong Officer to accompany the Consul-General, Canton, or his consuls on their tours to out-lying parts of the province. In my reply to MacDougall I should like to be able to say that this suggestion has the support of both the Colonial Office and Foreig office, and to suggest to him that he should make appropriate arrangements with the Embassy and witä Canton.
